The League of Women Voters is a multifaceted grass roots organization dedicated to keeping democracy strong, giving you a voice in your government.

The League works through the American political process to bring about constructive change by:

  • registering voters and defending voting rights
  • informing citizens about their rights and responsibilities
  • informing the public through our in-depth issues analyses
  • sponsoring candidate debates and public issues forums
  • taking action through lobbying for change

The League of Women Voters of Oak Ridge is a non-partisan organization serving democracy by involving citizens in the democratic process, increasing voter participation, and providing information on candidates, issues, and elections.

Individual members may support or oppose candidates, but never in the name of the League. The League does take positions on issues, as decided by the membership.

Join the League today with our downloadable application form — membership is open to U.S. Citizens 18 and older, male and female.
